These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WanderConnect mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use WanderConnect. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into these Terms.
2. Your account
- You create an account with your email address and a password, and verify your email before using the Service. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep your profile truthful — one real person per account.
- Do not impersonate others or create an account on someone else's behalf.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm other users.
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringes others' rights.
- Use the Service for commercial solicitation, spam, scams, or fraud.
- Request or send money, or solicit other users financially.
- Upload photos that are not of you, or that you do not have the right to use.
- Post trips you do not intend to take, or misrepresent a trip's details.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service if you are a convicted sex offender or barred by law.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos, text, trip details, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant WanderConnect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and display Your Content for the purpose of operating the Service. You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to share it.
5. Trips, matches, chat, and safety
- You can post a trip with a destination and dates, and other travellers can request to join it. You decide whether to approve a request; approved travellers join that trip's group chat.
- A one-to-one chat opens only when two users mutually like each other.
- You can unmatch and block any user at any time; unmatching wipes the shared chat. You can leave a trip's group chat at any time.
- You can report content or behaviour that violates these Terms.
- You meet and interact with other people at your own risk. WanderConnect does not conduct criminal background checks and does not verify the identity of all users. Always take sensible safety precautions, especially when meeting in person or travelling.
6. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or for any lawful reason. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
7. No warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee you will find a match or travel companion.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WanderConnect and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your interactions with other users, whether online or in person.
9. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; we will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
